The MMO Report Lineage Shutdown and Lion's Arch Trailer

Today's MMO Report is sad to say that it lacks Casey Schreiner. All is well, Morgan Webb from G4 has been appointed to cover Casey's 30th birthday.

The announcement that NCSoft will close the North American Lineage servers is the first order of business.  Ipagd.Com All accounts that were inactive for the game that was 13 years old were reactivated, and the game will continue to be free until the servers shut down.

Secondly, we move on to the much-anticipated Guild Wars 2 and the confirmation that Lion's Arch, a social hub that was featured in the first game, will be making its return in Guild Wars 2. Take a look at our coverage of the announcement of the fly-through video, as well as some insight from Rubi Bayer.

The next thing is screen-time for Minecraft. While the game isn't exactly an MMO but it's evident that Minecraft has gained immense popularity in the gaming world. Morgan reports that Minecraft creator Notch is contemplating holding an Las Vegas launch party... or, a convention tentatively dated for November 11th.

Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Sith Inquisitor trailer was released earlier in the week. The character is described by Morgan as "the one player character you don't want to meet in a dark corner," the class incorporates elements of spellcasters and stealth classes into one mean, Force-fueled combination.

We also have a fly-through of the Ether Saga Odyssey's starting zones from Perfect World Entertainment. The MMO was launched last month and is completely free to play.

For the full Casey-and-mailbag-deprived video, scuttle on past the cut.
